Monthly Expressive Writing Group with Jennie Linthorst
Explore your own unique story through the powerful process of guided expressive writing. Led by poetry therapy facilitator Jennie Linthorst, each month’s session is centered around a life theme and geared towards deepening our self-understanding. Writing prompts and the reading of related poetry will inspire your own poems, prose, and/or journal writing to come forward on the page. A safe place for writers and non-writers alike to write freely without critique, our focus is on honoring the insights and compassion the process brings forward for each participant.

No writing experience necessary. Open to all - from beginners to seasoned writers. Please register to hold your spot each month.

From current participants:

"I loved this class- it's a genius movement of poem to conversation, to a glorious half hour of writing, to sharing in the safe container of the group."

"Jennie has a wonderful 'soft' touch that exudes permission and compassion."

Poetic Voices Facilitator Training
In this workshop, you will learn five unique writing techniques-known as "voices"-that inspire poetic self-expression for all ages and abilities. These five voices make it simple to learn and teach poetic rhythm, sound, simile, metaphor, personification, dialogue, imagery, and detail. Jennie will lead you through her four-session poetry curriculum, which she teaches in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District to enhance writing and reading skills while fostering empathy and social/emotional growth.

This workshop is perfect for educators, parents, therapists, and facilitators looking to add fresh tools for teaching poetry to adults and children, and is open to anyone wishing to deepen their artistic self-expression during an enlightening day of creative self-discovery. No writing experience needed.
